Kana-to-Romaji FAQ
Hepburn is the most widely used system (e.g. し → shi) and is standard for passports and station names. Nihon-shiki follows Japanese phonology more strictly (e.g. し → si).
Macron-style Hepburn romanization (ā, ū, etc.) is supported for academic transcription. Passport-style romanization typically omits the macron.
Kanji romanization requires reading (furigana) information. Automatic kanji-to-romaji conversion is not currently supported; use hiragana or katakana input.
